Digital Printing

The pattern is printed flat, at scale, directly to the substrate. Colour, scale and placement come from the file.

There is no plate and no screen, so a run of one is the same operation as a run of a hundred. A mural crossing several panels is printed as one continuous image and split at the panel joints.

It is the base layer under most of the others. Where relief or texture is specified, this is the layer the pattern arrives on.
